Privacy Policy & Terms
Effective Date: October 2026 · Transparent Architecture & Client-Side Disclosures
1. Information We Do Not Collect (Local Computation Reality)
Unlike traditional online tools that transmit your inputs to a remote cloud database, SBS ToolBench operates with client-side JavaScript execution:
- We do not log or store the text you enter into our character counters (Google Ads RSA, Sitelinks, or LinkedIn counters).
- We do not save your ads.txt entries or publisher identification numbers (PUB-IDs).
- We do not retain personal wages, hourly rates, payroll estimates, or state tax deductions.
- We do not retain academic marks, percentages, or degree classification data.
- We do not store local business addresses, phone numbers, or revenue numbers entered into schema validators or sales tax tools.
2. Tool-Specific Disclosures & Optional Public Network Requests
To maintain absolute transparency regarding network behavior across the SBS ToolBench suite, we explicitly delineate local computation from optional external lookup features:
Within our University Citation & Reference Formatter Suite, users can optionally enter a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) to auto-fetch academic citation details. When this button is pressed, your browser queries the public CrossRef API (api.crossref.org) strictly to retrieve public academic metadata (author names, article title, journal, publication year). No user identity, IP tracking, or user-entered draft text is shared.
All other 23 utilities operate with zero outbound network calls during calculation routines.
3. Web Analytics and Measurement Disclosures
SBS ToolBench uses standard, privacy-conscious web analytics (Google tag / Google Analytics 4) to monitor aggregate technical performance:
- We measure macro metrics such as total page views, visitor geography by country, device categories (mobile/desktop), and general error states to guide bug fixes and infrastructure maintenance.
- Crucial Distinction: Analytical event trackers never record, intercept, or log raw user inputs, form fields, calculated results, or pasted text blocks.
- You can disable tracking cookies at any time via your browser settings without impacting the interactive computation of any tool.
4. Third-Party Advertising & Cookie Disclosures (Google AdSense)
SBS ToolBench may display third-party advertisements served by Google AdSense and its certified advertising partners to fund continuous tool development. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve relevant advertisements based on prior visits to our website or other sites across the internet.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve contextual and non-intrusive ads.
- Users can opt out of personalized advertising at any time by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- Alternatively, visitors can manage vendor cookie preferences through the Digital Advertising Alliance Consumer Choice Tool.
5. International Privacy Rights: GDPR, UK Data Protection & CCPA/CPRA
We respect the privacy rights of our global community and adhere to international data protection principles:
- European Economic Area (EEA) & UK Users (GDPR / UK GDPR): Because we do not process, store, or profile personal data from tool calculations, your interactions are inherently anonymous. For web analytics cookies, you retain the right to withdraw consent at any time.
- California Residents (CCPA / CPRA): SBS ToolBench does not sell, rent, share, or monetize user personal data. We do not maintain consumer profiles.
- Children's Privacy (COPPA): SBS ToolBench does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under the age of 13.
6. External Links & Regulatory Documentation
Our website links to official primary documentation, including Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC Notice 735), Ontario Universities' Application Centre (OMSAS), and Google Search Central. We are not responsible for the privacy policies or practices of external government or educational domains.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties & Terms of Use
All micro utilities and technical guides on SBS ToolBench are provided "as is" for operational and educational assistance. While formulas are strictly maintained against statutory benchmarks (such as CRA provincial rates and FLSA overtime statutes), users should verify critical financial, legal, or official university submissions with their governing institution or qualified legal counsel.
